Frontier Health is excited to announce the promotion of Heather Crouse to Senior Vice President of Outpatient & Children’s Specialty Services for the Southwest Virginia region of Frontier Health through our partnership with Planning District One Behavioral Services. Crouse has dedicated her entire career to Frontier Health and will oversee various programs, including Children and Youth Programs, Prevention Services, Outpatient Therapy, Addiction & Recovery Services, and VALUES Therapeutic Foster Care.
Crouse began her journey with Frontier Health in August 1998 as an Intensive In-Home Case Manager, shortly after earning her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Lincoln Memorial University. She quickly advanced to a supervisory role in February 2000 and completed her Master of Arts in Community Agency Counseling at East Tennessee State University in December 2000.
In 2003, after receiving her license as a Professional Counselor, Crouse took on the role of Services Coordinator at Lee County. She served in this position until September 2019, when she was appointed Division Director of Children and Family Services in Virginia. During her tenure, she significantly contributed to developing school-based services. She trained a workforce of therapists in evidence-based practices, allowing Frontier Health to provide innovative services to the community.

Heather Crouse’s extensive involvement in the behavioral health field is marked by her recognition as a Health Care Hero by the Business Journal in 2015. Her multiple professional certifications, including National Certified Counselor and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, further underscore her dedication and expertise in the field. She continues to bring her passion and knowledge to her new role, aiming to enhance further the behavioral health services Frontier Health offers.
