Mental Health Awareness Training
Contact: 423-895-4436
Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis. Frontier Health provides both the adult and youth version and encourages the faith-based communities to access this training through a SAMSHA funded program. Additional trainings on specific topics such as Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES), suicide prevention, parenting, and other behavioral health and substance use issues can be provided on request.
