Food City Continues Mental Health Support

Feb 12, 2025 | Uncategorized

Bristol, TN – Food City is continuing its commitment to mental health support in the region with a $50,000 donation to Frontier Health. The check presentation will take place on Thursday, February 13, at 4:00 PM at Bristol Behavioral Health Services located at 1145 Volunteer Parkway

This generous contribution will be divided between two critical initiatives:

• $25,000 to help support a new Children’s Walk-In Center in Kingsport, TN, opening in early July. This center is being developed in response to community input on the growing need for children’s mental health services. It will provide immediate support to children and youth experiencing a mental health crisis, helping them avoid higher levels of care.

• $25,000 to provide mental health treatment for individuals impacted by Hurricane Helene. These funds will ensure that those affected by the storm receive necessary mental health services at no cost.

“We are incredibly grateful to Food City for their ongoing support of mental health initiatives in our communities,” said Diane Bowen, Sr Vice President of Operations. “This donation allows us to expand services for children in crisis and provide vital care to those still struggling in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.”

“Food City is proud to continue our long-time partnership with Frontier Health Foundation with this significant investment in support of these two critical initiatives which will greatly benefit our region,” said Steven C. Smith, Food City President/CEO.
